HEATWAVE ALERT ! Protect yourself and beat the heat wave


A heatwave is defined as consecutive days of hot weather during which temperatures are extremely high during the day and especially at night. With temperature soaring above 45 degrees these days, summer heat is taking heavy toll on human life in India,it is crucial to be proactive to prevent sunstroke or dehydration.

The direct exposure to sunlight is causing several heat related health issues like heat exhaustion, heat cramps, muscle cramps, headaches, dizziness, fever, fatigue, drowsiness and heat strokes. Thus, it is high time to take the precautionary measures and protect ourselves and beat the heat waves.

Here are few ways to stay cool and safety tips in summers :

  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids/fruits even if you do not feel thirsty. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol.
  • Drink plenty of water or other healthy fluids as much as possible, Eat small meals and eat more often.
  • Avoid extreme temperature changes.
  • Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Apply sunscreen to limit your exposure to ultraviolet rays.
